Mama, I know you’re always the one behind the camera. This Mother’s Day, let’s change that. These Mother’s Day mini sessions are all about capturing the love, snuggles, and little moments you’ll want to hold onto forever. No stress, no pressure—just you and your babies, exactly as you are.
I want your session to be as easy and fun as possible, so here’s everything you need to know to feel fully prepared!

What to Wear for Your Mother’s Day Photos
The setup for these mini sessions in my Redmond, Oregon studio is soft, minimal, and timeless with neutral tones and florals. To complement that look, I recommend:
Light neutrals like ivory, beige, soft gray, or warm white
A touch of pastels—blush, muted blue, or sage for a fresh spring feel
Flowy dresses, soft knits, or comfy outfits that allow for natural movement and snuggles
Avoid loud patterns, bright neon colors, or big logos—simple and soft always photographs best!
If you’re feeling stuck on outfit choices, you’re welcome to use something from my client closet. Just be sure to book the first or last session of the day to have access.

Coordinating Outfits Without Overthinking It
Your mini session is short and sweet, so don’t stress too much about matching perfectly! Instead of everyone wearing the same color, try picking a color palette that looks good together. For example, if you’re in a soft neutral dress, your kids could wear earthy tones or pastels to complement your look.
Dads or partners (if included) can keep it simple with a neutral shirt and pants—nothing too distracting. The goal is to keep the focus on the connection between you and your babies, not on bold outfit choices.

Shoes or No Shoes?
Since these studio photo sessions take place in my home studio in Redmond, Oregon, most shots won’t include shoes. That said, if you want to bring a cute pair that matches your outfit, feel free! Just keep in mind that barefoot is totally fine too—it keeps the vibe relaxed and natural.
If you’re planning to wear shoes in any shots, make sure they’re clean and match your outfit’s style. For example, neutral flats, sandals, or simple boots photograph well, while sneakers or brightly colored shoes might stand out too much.

How to Prepare Kids for the Session
Short and sweet sessions like these are perfect for little ones, but a little prep beforehand helps them feel comfortable and happy!
Tell them what to expect – Keep it light and fun! Let them know it’s just a short time to cuddle, play, and have fun with Mom while I take pictures.
Make sure they’re fed and rested – A full belly and a quick nap (if needed) make a huge difference in keeping kids happy!
Let them be themselves – The best photos come when kids are free to be playful and affectionate. No need to force big smiles—snuggles, giggles, and sweet moments are what we’re after!

A Few Quick Reminders
If you’re booking with a newborn, you’ll need to book two back-to-back spots so we have plenty of time for those extra snuggly moments.
The session is in my upstairs home studio in Redmond, Oregon, so plan accordingly if that’s something to keep in mind.
These Mother’s Day minis are quick and sweet—just 15 minutes—so arriving on time and ready to go is key!

Most Importantly—Relax and Enjoy It!
I know it’s easy to feel nervous about getting in front of the camera, but remember: your babies love you exactly as you are. This session isn’t about perfect poses or stiff smiles—it’s about capturing the love between you and your little ones.
One day, they’ll look back at these photos and see how much you adored them. Let’s make sure those moments exist. 💛
